Students who experience transportation challenges to and from their summer placements receive vouchers for taxi services or stipends for gas. Higher Up is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is run by a small staff and mighty team of volunteers. Students are never charged a participation fee and do not incur any expenses associated with the program. Approximately 49% of the student body in the East Windsor Regional School District, where Higher Up operates, is under- resourced as measured by participation in the Free Lunch Program. Higher Up works to remove barriers to success, and donations and sponsorships are essential in funding student programs and services and offsetting day-to-day operating costs. Financial support of Higher Up enables local students to dream bigger and work to acquire the skills and experiences necessary to achieve their career and life goals.
